We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Diane Rehus, a woman of immense kindness, generosity and unwavering love. Her radiant spirit and compassionate heart touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Diane passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024. Born on December 4, 1953. Her pride and joy was her grandson Michael who truly brought joy to her life on a daily basis and you could always find Diane on the sideline cheering him on for basketball, football or baseball. Diane was known to be found reading her books, watching Law and Order, Murder She Wrote or any other drama shows. When at family parties, you could always find Diane playing outside with the children.
Diane is survived by her daughter, Melissa, her son Michael (Marisa) and her grandson Michael. She also leaves behind Juan Medina, her devoted partner for 27 years. Diane also leaves behind her sister Kathy Bassett, brother Joe Rehus (Mary), sister in laws Joyce (Drew) Hope, Aurora (Joe) Feola, brother in law Ken (Geri) Catala, Kathy (her late husband Bob) and many extended family and friends who will miss her tremendously.
Diane was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Catala, her mother Florence Rehus, father John Rehus and brother Jack Rehus who all were an integral part of her life.
Her visitation will be held on December 21, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 AM at Halpin-Bitecola-Brookdale Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 1284 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM on the same day at St Valentine's Church in Bloomfield. Diane will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, immediately after the service.
Diane will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, but her spirit and the impact she made will undoubtedly live on through her family and friends.
