Edmund McGuire of Bloomfield, NJ, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 18 2014 with his family by his side.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Frank Halpin's Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ, Internment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, 2 Terrace Avenue, Lodi, NJ.
Mr. McGuire was born in Passaic and had lived in Bloomfield for 48 years. He was a service writer for Wells Cadillac in South Orange for 24 years prior to his retirement in 1989. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a member of the Clifton V.F.W., Passaic American Legion, St. Thomas Church Holy Name Society and Choir. He had also coached Bloomfield little league and was a recruiter for Boy Scout Troop 4.
Edmund is predeceased by his sister Jean Boyko and brothers Richard and Vincent McGuire. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marilyn (nee McBride); his children, Terry Sullivan & her husband David, Ted McGuire, Bill McGuire & his wife Anne Marie, Andrew McGuire & his wife Patricia, John McGuire and David McGuire & his wife Caroline; his brother John Ryan McGuire; and his grandchildren, Sean, Tom, Bill, Michael, Caitlin, Brian and Christopher; great-grandson Vincent
