Empson Venturi

January 12, 1959 — January 4, 2025

Newark

Empson Venturi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, left us on January 4, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on January 12, 1959, in Lima, Peru, Empson's journey through life was one marked by strength, resilience, and unwavering faith. He is remembered as a man who faced the greatest challenges with a courage that inspired those around him. Even during his most difficult hours battling cancer, he often remarked, "Where there are great obstacles in life, God has even greater solutions!" This steadfast belief served as a testament to his character and will be cherished by all who knew him.

A dedicated career as a machine operator at Staples in Secaucus highlighted Empson's work ethic, but he was so much more than his profession. Education played a significant role in his life. He attended Luz Casanova Elementary, where he still has friends to this day. Empson graduated from Mariano Melgar De Brena High School in Peru. Once a Melgariano, always a Melgariano! He was an admin for this very tight-knit brotherhood group of friends' social media account, where they stayed in touch and even organized efforts to help anyone in need. He attended the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal, where he earned a Bachelor's in Sociology. It was in this vibrant atmosphere that he first met his love, Maria Del Pilar, as a teenager. Their enduring love story, which has inspired countless others, spans decades.

Empson was a man of many passions. He loved sports deeply, with soccer holding a special place in his heart. As a professional soccer player and wrestler in Peru, he transitioned to coaching after hanging up his cleats, serving as the president of the Latin Orange Soccer Club. All who encountered him knew he was an ardent fan of the Yankees, Giants, UFC, and boxing. Music also found a friend in Empson; his joyful spirit shone when he picked up a microphone at family gatherings, captivating loved ones with his heartfelt renditions of beloved songs, particularly "O Sole Mio," sung flawlessly in Italian.

His personality was characterized by warmth and unwavering loyalty. Empson was regarded as the perfect gentleman, a fiercely protective figure to those he loved, a nurturing provider, a doting husband, and a best friend to many. His nurturing nature extended beyond his immediate family, for he was everyone's Godfather, a title he wore with pride and responsibility. Empson was known to be the first to lend a hand and the last to leave when someone was in need. His legacy of kindness and generosity will endure as his family honors every moment they spend together.

Empson leaves behind his cherished family, his beloved wife, Maria Venturi, and their three children—Ethan Giovanni Venturi, Sandra Esperanza Fernandez (Jesus), and Taina Lorraine Venturi. His grandchildren, Erik, Brandon, and Esperanza, were the light in his life, and his sister, Nancy Venturi, will forever hold the memories of their sibling bond close to her heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor Jose Venturi Vidal and Esperanza Sofia Urdanivia de Venturi, as well as his siblings, Isabel Castillo, Sara Venturi, and brother Luis Venturi.

Empson Venturi's life was a celebration of love, resilience, and community. Though he has departed from this earthly realm, his spirit will live on through the seeds of kindness he planted in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. A visitation will be held on January 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Halpin-Bitecola-Brookdale Funeral & Cremation Services in Bloomfield, NJ.
