Frank Diveny was born and raised in Montclair, NJ. He spent his adult life in Bloomfield.
Frank retired from Heller Industries, in Florham Park, after 25 years of service, and was also employed by Halpin-Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home.
He served in the Navy in WWII, in the European and Pacific & China Theatre. He received the NJ Distinguished Service Medal.
Frank was a member of the VFW Post #711 in Bloomfield. He served as Commander, and also served many years as Assistant Sergeant at Arms for the State VFW.
Frank also belonged to the Tin Can Sailors Inc., a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, and the Holy Name Society (for which he received the Man of the Year Award).
Frank is survived by his sisters, Doris O’Reilly, Ann Towey and her husband Bill, also a brother, Thomas and his wife Barbara, of Montclair, along with many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife Katherine, his sisters; Pat Quinn, Betty Manna, his brothers; Paul, John, and Edwin.
Friends and family are welcomed to visit from 3 - 7 pm, on Sunday, April 23rd at Halpin -Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad St, in Bloomfield. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, on Monday, April 24th at St Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Ave in Bloomfield. Entombment services will be held privately.
