Heber Averaldo of Bloomfield passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the age of 83. He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay coming to the United States in 1970. He had lived in Kearny for many years before moving to Bloomfield in 2013. Heber was an interpreter / translator for Ford Motor Company in Newark; later starting his own interpreter / translator agency, Abbey Translations of Kearny. He had worked for the Essex and Hudson County Court Systems before retiring in 2010. Heber enjoyed flea markets, soccer, music and spending time with his grandchildren.
Heber was predeceased by his parents, Jose Luis & Celia (nee Lorieto) Averaldo. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Rosa (nee Benitez) Averaldo; daughter Sylvia Del Vecchio and her husband Angelo; brother Jose Luis Averaldo; and grandchildren, Angelica and Anthony Del Vecchio.
There will be a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield on Wednesday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m. Please gather at the church at 9:45 a.m. Cremation will be private and it is requested to make memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) Please visit www.halpinfh.com for directions and condolence messages.
