Jean (Peggy) Degnan, of Bloomfield, entered into eternal life on January 18th, 2017.
Peggy was born in Detroit Michigan, and later moved to Bloomfield where she graduated from Bloomfield High School. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church for over 60 years. She devoted her life to her family, which was her greatest treasure.
Peggy Leaves behind her loving husband of 68 years, Gordon J Degnan, their children; Gordon J Degnan Jr and his wife Amy, Timothy Degnan and his wife Mary, Kathleen FitzMaurice and her husband Joseph, Janice Fowler, David J Degnan and his fiancé Reina, Jeffrey Degnan and his wife Celie, and Beverly Aliotta and her husband Christopher. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; Rhiannon, Kyle, Evyn, Shaun, Kerry, Joseph, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Karah, and Gabrielle, and a few grand animals. Peggy was predeceased by her brothers Burton, Robert and Paul, and leaves behind a cherished sister Nancy Bertomeau of Bradenton FL, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit Halpin – Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad St, in Bloomfield, on Friday January 20th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A memorial mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 21st, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Ave, in Bloomfield, with inurnment to follow at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Ave, in Bloomfield.
