Heaven has gained another angel. Joyce Hakimian, a remarkable individual who graced the world with her presence from December 23, 1957, until September 5, 2024, went back to be with the Lord. Born in Montclair, NJ, Joyce's journey through life was marked by a steadfast dedication to her career, her family, and her unwavering spirit of kindness.
Joyce proudly served at Tiffany Electric, Inc. for over 35 years, where her relentless work ethic and determination culminated in her attaining the esteemed position of Chief Financial Officer. Her professional life was a testament to her belief in the value of hard work, resilience, and the nurturing of relationships, both in and out of the workplace.
Joyce’s spirituality and belief in the Lord was present with her throughout her entire life. She prayed with her Bible and read scriptures daily, and rarely ever missed a Sunday mass. Her daily life was modeled by the Lord’s teachings, and her love for God was evident in all that she did.
Education played an integral role in Joyce's life; she earned her bachelor's degree from Montclair State University, followed by an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. These accomplishments reflect her unyielding commitment to personal and professional growth.
Joyce's personal life was rich with love and devotion. She was a dedicated wife to her beloved husband, John Hakimian, with whom she shared 25 fulfilling years of marriage. As a proud mother, Joyce cherished her daughter, Paige Hakimian, pouring her heart into nurturing and guiding her through life's journey. Joyce's caring nature extended to her siblings as well; she is survived by her brother, Richard O'Reilly, and her dear sister, Aileen DesRosieres, alongside her sister-in-law, Michelle O'Reilly, and brother-in-law, Wayne DesRosieres. Additionally, she doted on her many cherished nieces and nephews, fostering deep connections that will be treasured for generations to come.
Her family was the cornerstone of her existence; she was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A woman of extraordinary compassion, Joyce's nurturing personality left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. In her leisure moments, she found joy in music and the warmth of spending time with her loved ones, crafting memories that would become the fabric of her legacy.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, William O'Reilly and Doris O'Reilly, whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable person she became. Her absence will be deeply felt, yet her spirit will undoubtedly live on in the countless lives she touched through her kindness and generosity.
Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Joyce during a visitation on September 12, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Halpin-Bitecola-Brookdale Funeral & Cremation Services in Bloomfield, NJ. A Mass will be held in her honor on September 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, followed by interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair, NJ.
As we say our final farewells to Joyce Hakimian, let us carry forward her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering strength, ensuring she is never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in Joyce's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
