Marcella Doherty

Marcella D. Doherty, 84, of Bloomfield, NJ, formerly of Glen Ridge, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, surrounded by her family.  Born in Queens, NY, she was raised on Long Island, NY, amongst an extended, loving family. Marcella was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 61 years, Raymond Doherty; and her parents John Koerner and Charlotte (Shaw) Koerner.  Marcella is survived by son, Raymond; daughter Diana Donnelly; son, Dennis; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Doherty; sister, Cora Frolander; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Christina, Jared, Lindsay, Jack, Ray, Brian, and Kaitlyn; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Charles; dear nieces and nephews, and many loving relatives and friends. Marcella was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family.  She was an active member of her church and served as a religious education teacher.  Marcella worked for two decades for Midlantic and PNC Banks.  Funeral services will be private.  A future memorial service will be held for family and friends.
