Marion Dobransky, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on April 29th, 2019. She was 99 years old.
Marion was born in Jessup, Pennsylvania. She was a resident of Bloomfield for 60 years, and a long time parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Marion married her husband, Michael, in 1951, and they shared a wonderful life together for 50 years. She was employed as a data entry operator with ADP, but she primarily dedicated her life to raising her children, taking care of family members, and creating lasting memories with those who loved her. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed listening and dancing to Polka music, watching Mets baseball games, taking long walks in the park with her son and friends, and traveling with her family. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and celebrated every milestone with them.
Marion loved baking and preparing meals to enjoy with her family. She was immensely proud of her Russian heritage and looked forward to sharing her culture with family and friends during the holidays. Marion was a gentle, kind woman of deep faith, with an engaging smile that never failed to light up a room. She made fast friends of strangers, throughout her life, particularly during her travels.
Marion was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Michael, and brother, John Ketchick. She leaves behind her son, Dr. Michael Dobransky, her daughter, JoAnn DeDonato and her husband Joseph. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Kimberly and Michael DeDonato, as well as many nieces and nephews.
