Michael Busichio, Sr.

Michael Busichio, Sr., a cherished family man and devoted civil servant, passed away on November 29, 2024 at the age of 91. Born on May 2, 1933, in Newark, NJ, Michael lived a life characterized by kindness, dedication, and a profound love for his family.

Michael served honorably in the United States Navy for four years, from 1952 to 1956, during the turbulent times of the Korean War. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a claims adjudicator for Veterans Affairs in Newark, NJ. His work was a testament to his commitment to helping others, particularly those who had served the nation.

Despite his professional responsibilities, Michael always prioritized spending quality time with his family. He delighted in the company of his grandchildren, who were a source of immense joy and pride throughout his life. His passion for family was not only evident in his actions but also reflected in his proudest achievements, including coaching Little League baseball for his sons during their youth.

An avid sports fan, Michael cherished both playing and watching sports. He found joy in bowling and taking walks, often cherishing simple moments spent with loved ones or socializing at Brookdale Barbers, where he enjoyed gathering with friends.

He is survived by his loving family, including his son John Busichio and daughter-in-law Lisa Busichio, son Michael Busichio, grandson Louis Busichio, and granddaughter Laine Busichio. Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife, Josephine Busichio.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life during a visitation on December 4, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Halpin-Bitecola-Brookdale Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 1284 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
