Michael J. LaRosa, 72, of Bloomfield, N.J., formally of Newark and Lyndhurst, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday June 22, with his loving family by his side.
Michael was born on February 28, 1941 in Newark N.J. to the late James and Betty (nee Barone) LaRossa. He was a heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local 825 prior to his retirement. He was an antique car enthusiast belonging to the Jersey Classics and the Nifty Cruisers.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy (nee Kurz); his beloved children Michael LaRosa, Vincent (Danielle) LaRosa and Anthony (Carmelina) LaRosa; his adored stepchildren Stephen (Samantha) Ciccone, Elizabeth (David) Stambaugh and Katharine Ciccone. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Jenna, Stephen, P.J., Kara, Alana, Vincent and Matthew.
Visitation will be at the Frank Halpin's Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad Street, Bloomfield on Monday from 3:00 to 9:00 pm. The Funeral will be Tuesday 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home followed by the Funeral Liturgy in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Ave, Bloomfield at 10:00 a.m. Interment Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair.
