Patricia Ann Cestone (née Brower) passed away on February 3, 2023, at the age of 84, surrounded by her family, in Palm Coast, Florida.
Patricia was born on March 31, 1938, raised in Bloomfield, NJ, was a graduate of St. Thomas the Apostle School and Bloomfield High School, and was one of nine children.
Patricia loved babies and children. She was a Registered Nurse, having graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Orange, NJ, where she specialized in Pediatric Nursing, and upon graduation, became the Head Nurse of the Nursery.
Patricia married Richard V. Cestone on June 13, 1959, at their Parish, St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, in Bloomfield, NJ. Growing up together, Patricia and Richard were long-time neighbors and both families, lifelong friends. They raised five children in Bloomfield and later, Wayne, NJ.
After the children were grown, Patricia returned to Nursing in the Hospital, Nursing Home, and Private Duty settings, and later to a Pediatrician’s Office in Northern New Jersey.
Patricia and Richard retired to Palm Coast, Florida in 2004.
Patricia was a great cook and baker who enjoyed following many family and Holiday traditions. She enjoyed travel with her Husband and Family. The Cestone Family traveled together around the United States and spent every summer vacationing in their favorite Cape May County location at the Jersey Shore. Later, Patricia and Richard took many vacations cruising around the world. She also enjoyed watching sports and attending many live sporting events with Richard and the Family.
Patricia was a strong woman with a positive attitude supported by her Catholic Faith and instilled those qualities in her Children. She was a kind and giving person, who cared for and helped many Family members and friends through their health issues.
Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Richard, her daughters, Donna Marie, Anne Marie and Patricia Marie, her son, Richard Mark, her son, Christopher Matthew (Mary Ellen) and three grandchildren, Alexander Matthew, Nicholas Thomas and Christina Titika.
Patricia was predeceased by her Parents, Margaret Veronica and Theodore Francis Brower, and her eight siblings: Frances Glover (George), Joe Brower (Irene), Ted Brower (Marilyn), Mary Grace Kondash (Joe), Dorothy Cole (Dave), Bob Brower (Dorothy), Dave Brower (Rose) and Margaret Retoske (Bob).
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ on Thursday February 9, at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, NJ. The family will receive their friends at the Halpin-Bitecola Funeral Home, 1284 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ on Wednesday February 8, from 3-7pm.
