Richard L Schamber Sr., a beloved carpenter and devoted family man, passed away on November 16, 2023, in Glen Ridge, NJ. He was born on February 3, 1954, in New York, NY. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
Richard's career as a carpenter and home improvement specialist at Showcase Kitchen spanned over several decades. He was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Richard took great pride in his work and always went above and beyond to ensure that his clients were satisfied.
Outside of work, Richard had a passion for spending time with his family. He cherished every moment he spent with his grandchildren and found immense joy in their company. Richard's face would light up with a smile whenever he watched the NY Yankees play. He was an avid fan of the team and followed their journey faithfully.
One of Richard's proudest accomplishments was being a member of the SCAT Club. Richard's membership in this club was a testament to the time spent with his lifelong friends.
Richard will be deeply missed by his surviving family members and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy-Jo Schamber, son Richard Schamber Jr., daughter-in-law Karen Schamber, son Christopher Schamber, daughter-in-law Casey Schamber, grandsons; Joseph Schamber, Michael Schamber, Anthony Schamber, Christopher Schamber Jr., Kyle Schamber, brothers; William Schamber, and Robert Schamber.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents William and Anne Schamber, and sister Laura Schamber. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew them.
Friends and family may visit on November 20, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Halpin-Bitecola-Brookdale Funeral & Cremation Services located at 1284 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003. A Funeral Service will follow on November 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Brookdale Reformed Church located at 16 Bellevue Ave, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
Richard L Schamber Sr. will always be remembered for his dedication to his family, passion for carpentry, and the love he shared with all those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy will continue to inspire and his memory will be cherished by all. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers a donation in Richard's memory may be made to the Brookdale Reformed Church.
