Salvatore “Sam” Lataro
Salvatore D. Lataro of Bloomfield entered into eternal life on Sunday August 9th, with his beloved son and daughter in law by his side. He was 86.
Sal was born and raised in Newark, and lived in Bloomfield for 50 years. Salvatore served his country honorably, during the Korean Conflict, while he was enlisted in the US Navy. Sal was a sales representative for Trans World Airlines from which he retired in 1990. Salvatore was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, usher, member of the Holy Name Society, and assisted with the food pantry. He would even go as far as clipping news articles and stories, related to your interests, and saving them until he saw you again. He was a loving devoted family man and will be truly missed by all.
Salvatore is now reunited in heaven with his wife of 43 years, Marie, and their daughter Kathleen. Being the youngest of 11, Sal was predeceased by all of his siblings; Thomas, John, Dominic, Angelo, Charles, Mary, Josephine, William, Rocco, and Nancy. Sal leaves behind his loving son Steven and his wife Virginia of Clifton.
Friends and family are asked to visit on Tuesday August 11th, from 2-4 and 7-9pm, at Halpin – Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad Street in Bloomfield.
