Violet Pierro Albanese passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2015. Violet was born in Newark, NJ and resided in Woodland Park for the last 60 years. She worked as a seamstress in Newark making garments. She also worked at Kearfott Manufacturing as a power supply assembler and she loved every minute of working and wished she could bring her work home to show her friends and family.
She was married to Joseph Albanese for 40 years who predeceased her. She is predeceased by her parents Anthony and Rose Pierro Cardinale. She was predeceased by her sister Alvina Pierro and brother in law Raymond Gasalberti. Surviving is her loving sister Lorraine McGinniss and her husband James, her nieces and nephews, Anthony Gasalberti, Anne Marie Chesterman and her husband Gary Chesterman, Richard Gasalberti, Robert Gasalberti and his wife Denise, Ronald Gasalberti, Tracy McGinniss-Nordin, and Eric McGinniss. Surviving are her great nieces and nephews, Christine Gasalberti, Ryan Chesterman and his wife Jayne, Jason Chesterman, David and Danielle Gasalberti, Dakota and James Rizzo.
Violet always enjoyed being with her family for special events and holidays. She was a big fan of Dancing with the Stars and especially QVC. Violet was everyone’s “favorite aunt” because no matter who you were or where you were from she befriended you. “I said self, I had a good home and I left. . . right”.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Halpin-Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad St., Bloomfield, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Ave., Bloomfield, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, N.J.
