Walter “Bruce” Davis, 77, of Morristown, New Jersey passed away on March 21, 2016. Bruce grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey where he was an active participant in the community. There he graduated from Bloomfield High School, lettering in both baseball and basketball. He then continued his education at Upsula College where he studied insurance. Upon graduating, he worked for Travelers Insurance Company as a Regional Manager in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In 1989, he formed W. Bruce Davis & Associates, a major merger and acquisition firm specializing in the insurance industry.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Dolly Dannenhower; a son David and his wife Laurie; a daughter Kellie; five grandchildren Evan, Jacob, Kolbie, Julie and Jenna; a loving brother Gary and his wife Joanne; and two children from a previous marriage Stephen and James Brunner.
Bruce was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bruce was an avid lover of golf. He would spend many countless hours with his buddies out on the golf course. When he wasn’t on the golf course, he enjoyed the warm breezes of the Jersey Shore. He always opened up his heart and home at the Jersey Shore and enjoyed the company of many. Many remember his love for relaxing and reading his newspaper. Bruce enjoyed spending many countless hours with all of his grandchildren. Family came first to Bruce and he will be forever remembered in our hearts.
There will be a Graveside Service on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:30am at the Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Ave. in Bloomfield. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
