Waskar Nunez, a dedicated individual who spent his career working within CUNY supporting College students, has sadly left us. Born in Mao, Dominican Republic, Waskar was a beacon of light in the lives of many. Throughout his life, he cultivated a reputation for being funny, very social, and someone who could effortlessly make friends wherever he went. His welcoming nature made others feel appreciated and valued in his presence. One of his greatest joys was helping others, especially his friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
His strong will and unwavering integrity were traits that set him apart. Waskar was known for being a role model to his children, always emphasizing the importance of living with honesty and honor. He found pleasure in watching and playing sports, as well as teaching sports to his beloved children. Additionally, he had a deep appreciation for music which brought him solace and joy.
In the presence of his loving family, Waskar Nunez bid farewell to this world. He is survived by his wife Hannah Riarback-Nunez, his son Nicholas Nunez, his daughter Alicia Nunez, as well as his parents Hugo and Maria Nunez.
